Questions About The Firm

1. Is Chris McKee still at the firm?
McKee Counsel congratulates Chris McKee on his position as Associate General Counsel at Polypore International, Inc.  As a result of this move to an in-house position, Chris no longer is in the private practice of law.  Should you have further questions, please feel free to contact us.

2. Where are you located?
Bruce McKee works primarily from his home office.  As such, should you drop in at the McKee Counsel office location without an appointment, you are unlikely to be able to see him, though you may drop items off there with the receptionist.  That office location is less than one mile west of Exit 11 (Windward Parkway) on GA 400, ideally situated to serve the entire north Atlanta area while remaining convenient to Downtown, Midtown, and Buckhead. (Click for directions.)

3. How much do you charge per hour?
We recognize that legal services are expensive, but please know that we charge rates that are extremely reasonable given the credentials and experience of our personnel. For our current rates, please contact us.

4. What if I only talk to the attorney for a few minutes? Will I be billed for a full hour?
We bill in increments of 1/10th of an hour. You will be billed accordingly.

5. What services are billable?
Attorneys are paid for the use of their time. Therefore, all of our attorney services are billable, including communications with clients. We bill certain projects on a flat fee basis, and we will inform you if your project is a flat fee matter.

6. When can I expect to receive a bill?
We send invoices on or shortly following the first of each month, with payment expected within the following twenty to twenty-five days.  From time to time, we may issue a mid-month invoice on a case-by-case basis.

7. Is there a retainer required?
We determine the need for a retainer on a case-by-case basis.

8. If your attorney does not specialize in a certain area that I need, will he still try to represent me?
We desire to provide our clients with the best possible legal service, which may mean that we need to refer our client to or consult with an attorney outside our firm. We maintain a close relationship with several local attorneys to whom we commonly refer clients for services outside our practice areas.

9. Will Bruce come to my location for a meeting?
We are happy to meet with you at the location of your choosing, but please be aware that we bill for the total time it takes us to travel to and from your location.
